Expert vs. amateur

The photo at the top is Kim Sallaway's splendid Picture of the Day today, and the one at the bottom is my substantially less impressive shot of a bald eagle swooping over the new south bridge at Confusion Hill last Saturday.

Ahhh, to have Kim's eye, expertise, and photographic equipment!

funny but i like yr picture the best... its more natural and not so hitech looking. i like the blue ...

i heard on Agnes show this morning about an indian whos facing jailtime 4 killing a bald eagle for use in a sacred ceremony. The cruel irony that his lawyer pointed out is that while he kills but one a year for ceremony, countless numbers of them die on the power lines that modern civilization has crisscrossed his land with. i guess the logic is that theyre saving the ecosystem by punishing this man for his transgression against Nature --sheeeszus!

yr so fortunate to have seen that and had yr camera ready too. Thanx 4 sharing, finding it here was a transcendent part of my ceremony today --or should i say trance sent it... LOL -- im tempted to steal it 4
my profile picture its bueatiful --loooking at it gaves me goosebumps .......

Well, you're welcome to it if you'd really like it, although I'm not sure how much you'll be able to see in a thumbnail!

Thanks for the sweet comments.

Very kewl Suzy!

I like both pictures. Kim's and Cristina's. Next time Cristina, try luring the eagle in with a french fry!

there is a high pitched whistle/screech you can make through your lower teeth that can get a duet going sometimes.

ernie... it is not hard to see you ordering a side of fries to go and telling 'em it was for the bald eagles!

forgot to compliment you christina...that is how you see em mostly, soaring away at binocular range.
twenty years ago, we would see them regularly along the eel in piercy, often following the river at much lower elevations.

nice pic.
